We log in to our Quickbooks Enterprise via Right Networks. Often we get a message that states a Transaction Delayed error. We are unable to save any data while this message pops up. Several users in our office are having the same issue. Need to resolve this issue with your help.

It's nice to see you here today, @SupermarketSourceOps. I'm more than happy to assist you in resolving the Transaction Delayed error message you've come across while using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) in multi-user mode.

Typically, this error occurs when another user is engaged in a QBDT task that can only be performed by one user at a time, even in multi-user mode. In such cases, you can initiate your duty once the other user has completed theirs.

However, if you're sure that another user is not the cause of the error, let's check for multiple host computers and disable hosting on all workstations. To do this:

  1. Open QBDT. Go to File and select Utilities.
  2. If Stop Hosting Multi-User Access appears, click it and select Yes. However, if Host Multi-User Access shows, go to the next step.
  3. Close QBDT.
  4. Repeat the steps above on all workstations that do not host the company file.
  5. Reopen QBDT and perform the task that caused the error.

If the issue persists, please refer to the If the error appears on multiple workstations section in this article: Fix locked file errors in QuickBooks Desktop.

Furthermore, you can gain a better understanding of the various tasks that can be performed in multi-user mode by reviewing this reference: Features available and tasks you can perform in single or multi-user mode.

Fill me in whenever you have further queries about the Transaction Delayed error in QBDT. We're always available around the clock to assist you. Stay safe and have a great rest of the day!

Hi JaeAnn,

I checked my QBDT and it was not Hosting. We will check all other desktops to make sure. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

Raul
