Yes, you're right. The account number can only be displayed in the Classic view. I'd recommend sending your product suggestion directly to our product engineers.

Log in to your QBO account and open the Transaction List by date report to share your insights about the report's design. Utilize the Give feedback link.

 

In the meantime, you'll want to export it to Excel and manually add the account numbers from there. Click the Export drop-down arrow> select Export to Excel.
