Welcome to the Community forum, rc68nyc.

When importing inventory parts with parent-child relationships into QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) using the Advanced Import feature, you may encounter difficulties mapping the "SUBITEM IF" field.

To resolve this issue, you can use the "ListID" field to establish the parent-child relationships during the import process. Instead of mapping the "SUBITEM IF" field directly, make sure that each child item includes the ListID of its parent item in the "ParentRefListID" column in your Excel file. This will link the child items to their respective parent items. Before doing so, please make sure you create a backup of your company file for future use.

Then, during the mapping process in the Advanced Import feature, you can look for the "ParentRefListID" field and map it to the corresponding column in your Excel file that contains the ListID of the parent items. Before proceeding with the import, double-check your Excel file to ensure that the "ParentRefListID" column contains the ListIDs of the parent items for each child item.

By using the "ParentRefListID" field to establish the parent-child relationships and mapping it correctly during the Advanced Import process, you should be able to import your inventory parts with the appropriate parent-child structure into QBDT.

If you continue to encounter issues, you can consider reaching out to Customer Care Team. They can perform a screen-sharing session to help you further with the import process.

Hi Mirriam

when you stating that i should use ListID , are you referring to Item Name/ Item Number ? which basically is the SKU?

so if i understand correctly , what you asking me to do is the add the Parent Name before the Item Name?

for example if the parent name is JA15112G1IJP0102 and the child is 6XGVHO-KNYQ-41, i should sent the Item name like this  JA15112G1IJP0102:6XGVHO-KNYQ-41 ? is this correct ? if this is correct this will not work for me since the whole idea that i am adding the products to QB , is the sync data from amazon, eBay and Walmart and shopify to QB , and all the skues on all my selling channels are XGVHO-KNYQ-41, so if i add the parent name before that i will not be able to sync the information , the item name should be as is

if i did not understood what you mean , than please help me understand on where do i find the ListID

there is no ListID on mapping

by the way i added a screen shot on my original post , why its not appearing online

Upon reading through your response and the previous representative's recommendation, we can say that you understand the details that our colleague provided.
