Hello, I have QuickBooks for Mac and would like to disconnect the web connector which starts up the program automatically. How can I turn that off on a Mac?

Hi thanks for the follow up. The web connector direction did not work as that was for a PC. What did work was to go to User/Groups and go to Login. There I could uncheck QuickBooks. That was all it took for Mac.

Thanks for posting, @phoaglan.

I have some information about turning off Web Connector. Installing QuickBooks Web Connector enables the program to launch every time you turn on your computer. You can turn it off by deleting the appropriate startup entry.

Let me guide you how:

  1. Go to the Application folder (or from the OS X Finder, hit Command+Shift+A to jump to the /Applications folder.)
  2. Look for QuickBooks. Right-click Exchange Data With Web Services.
  3. Select Delete. Then, click Yes when prompted.

See this article for details on how to manage QuickBooks Web Connector: Set up QuickBooks Web Connector.

Once done, reboot your computer to refresh the program.

Please let me know how it goes as I wanted to ensure this is resolved for you. Take care and have a nice day ahead.

Sheilla, I also want to add that I have the desktop version of Quickbooks for Mac and it is the 2019 version.

Thank you,

Peter

Thanks for adding more information about your concern. As an insight, the Web connector only works on Windows.

At this point, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks for Mac Customer Care team to help you check what's causing the issue.
