Verify Failure; Verify Employee YTD Bal : ytd out of balance. Name =

When I try to verify my account this shows:

Verify Employee YTD Bal : ytd out of balance. Name =John Doe Ref= 3009

This all of a sudden showed up for every employee past or present. Rebuild does not work. What should I do and how would I find this specific error that was not there just a few months ago?

Hello there, @Camisno.

I appreciate the details and the steps you've taken. I can help you resolve the data issue in your QuickBooks.

The Verify result shows that John Doe's YTD is out of balance. You'll have to go to your employee's profile and look for the transaction with Reference number 3009. If necessary, you have to delete and recreate that transaction.

If you need additional help, you can also get in touch with our phone support agents. They can initiate a screen sharing session with you to better isolate the issue.

  1. Open this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
  3. Click on the Company File menu.
  4. Scroll-down and click either Get Phone Number.

That should point you on the right track, Camisno.

Let me know if you're able to surpass the error. I'm still here to help you more if you have follow up questions. Just add a comment below or mention my name.

Thank you, yes I called. They said it was not technically an error, but was a result of backup/restore from quickbooks windows to quickbooks Mac. So since there was no other message, there is no problem.

Thank you!

Has the file been sent to QuickBooks Windows?

@HoneyLynn_G  @IntuitBrooks

Yes, I had forgotten that my computer crashed last year and the most recent backup I had on hand was the windows conversion from my cpa. They said since Windows Payroll is run in the program vs. Mac online payroll the transactions were foreign to the program. They said I could delete and re-enter every payroll entry or forward to their service team with a paid protection plan. I chose to live with it. Thank you for your help!

If it ever goes back to Windows have them try a File->Utilities->Rebuild over there.  But I don't think it will cause any harm on the Mac side.
