I didn't complete W-2's for 2023.  My Quickbooks now has the 2024 version of W-2's as I was forced to upgrade to Enterprise.  Can I still go back and complete the 2023's?

@akvicki  "Can I still go back and complete the 2023's?"

Probably not.

QB only stores certain forms such as the W-2 and 941 reports for the most recent year. Once you have the update containing the new forms installed, that's generally it.

That said, if you can find a local techie who is familiar with QB, or if you regularly create Restore points on your computer, you may be able to effectively rollback the update containing the 2024 W-2.

Of course, in the case of the Restore points, you'd be rolling back everything else since then as well, so take that with a grain of salt.

@akvicki

You can find the last backup file for the old QB Desktop version when upgrading your company file on QB Desktop 2024 first time. Login to your CAMPS. Can you still find your old QB Desktop license + Enhanced Payroll subscription?
