Question

What does 'In Agency' status mean for 1099s? I submitted 1099s on January 10th and they are still stuck 'in agency' (2 weeks later). How long does review typically take?

Welcome to the Community, @userscissell. We'll point you in the right direction to help you address the In Agency status you see on submitted 1099s inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Know that the In Agency status means the agency received your submission and is reviewing your 1099 filings. We can't provide a timeframe for when it'll be finished, and that said, we recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. This way, they can supply further details to help you through this. We'll write the steps below to get you going:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.
