Question

What is the easiest way to print a check and have it align? The instructions are not helpful and it all seems to work backwards with 3 part paper. Any suggestions?

Hello there, @heather2277.

I'd be glad to help you print a check and have it align properly in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To correctly print and align the checks with 3-part paper, you can use the standard type of check. Also, make sure to fine-tune its alignment.

  1. Go to +New and select Print Checks.
  2. Checkbox the check that you want to print then select Print setup.
  3. Choose the Standard type of check.
  4. Select View Preview and print sample.
  5. Click Print.

In addition, to fine-tune the check alignment. You can adjust or drag the grid so the numbers will adjust and align correctly. Follow the steps below:

  1.  Go to +New and select Print Checks.
  2. Select Print Setup.
  3. Select No, continue setup, and then click No, continue setup againThis will open the check in an alignment window where you can adjust the margins to correct the alignment.
  4. In the check image window, drag the grid so the numbers are in the same place they appear on your sample print. QuickBooks will automatically adjust the alignment.
  5. After adjusting the grid, select View Preview and print sample. Then select Print.
  6. Go back to QBO and follow the on-screen steps to finish printing your check. Then, review your alignment.
  7. Once done, select Finish Setup.
