Question

What is the source of a transaction?

In the vendor transaction list, there is an option for a "source" column. What does this refer to?

I'd like to be able to see if a vendor is always paid out of the same bank account at a glance, not by having to click on each transaction. However, when I check that column, it does not populate with anything?

Thanks!

Let me share some information about the Source column on the Expense Transactions page, AnneB.

We appreciate you for providing a screenshot of your concern for us to better isolate the issue. The Source column is the summary of the transactions. This includes the source account, source name, source memo, and source amount.

This will only show once you've linked a transaction. For example, if you've linked an invoice to a credit note, the Source field will show you the related items of the transaction.

Furthermore, you can browse some of our help articles if you have some questions about QuickBooks Online (QBO). You'll just have to make sure to select the correct product for the resources to show up: QuickBooks Online Help Articles.
