Hello there, Surefire2017.

Please know that QuickBooks will always detect a newly edited TIN when amending a 1099 form. Since this isn't working on your end, I've got troubleshooting steps to ensure you can achieve your goal.

Beforehand, may I ask if you received an error message after entering the new TIN to correct a 1099 Form? I appreciate any further details so I can provide accurate information.

For now, sometimes a cache full of history and temp files can cause unexpected behaviors, such as being unable to save the new TIN when amending a 1099 form.

I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. Then, enter the new TIN from there to correct the said tax form. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and incognito doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using:

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, you'll need to clear the cache of your regular browser. It deletes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. If the steps above don't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.

In case you need guidelines on how you can access archived or previously filed forms in QBO, you can read this article: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Online.

I am not getting an error.... the response is "it looks like nothing has changed" and then I cannot go any further.  I have tried emptying my cache and I have also tried refreshing my browser after changing the TIN but no luck.  Any other ideas?
