Question

When I void an incorrect pay cheque, and then re-create a correct one, will both be recorded and result in a higher tax remittance? How can I resolve this?

Hi there, @-littleredschool. I'm here to share some information on how to fix when your void and recreate a paycheck in QuickBooks.

Voiding an incorrect paycheck and creating a correct one can increase tax remittance. In QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To fix this,  you'll need adjustments to the tax liabilities for the period when the incorrect paycheck was voided and the correct one was issued. I suggest reaching out to our support team to assist with the adjustment entry.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click the Help icon on the top right corner of the screen.
  2. On the pop-up panel, go to the Search tab.
  3. Click the Contact Us button on the bottom part.
  4. In the box, we'll want to enter "delete adjustment entry."
  5. Proceed with Continue, then choose how you want to reach us.

Also, you can run, print, and customize payroll reports to get a closer look at your business finances in QBO. To do this, you may want to check out this article as your complete guide: Run payroll reports.
