Question

When using the QBO app, or online, with my iPad, how can I save a pdf of an estimate in a Dropbox file? I get “Check internet” error messages when my internet is fine.

This happens when I click the “Save to Dropbox” link and when I toggle the save as “automatic” or “pdf”.  Don’t have this problem from my desktop Mac.

Let's ensure you can save your estimate as a PDF file, Mark.

To begin with, since you can't save your estimate as a PDF file due to an error "Check the internet," I suggest performing app troubleshooting. Errors like this are the result of an accumulated cache.

With this, we can start by refreshing the app data:

  1. Go to Menu ☰ and tap Help & Feedback.
  2. Tap Refresh Data.
  3. A message will appear that says, Caution. If there was a problem getting your latest QuickBooks Online data, you can refresh it now. It may take a few minutes.
  4. Tap Refresh to confirm.

Once done, you can close and reopen the mobile app and save the estimate as a PDF file. If you continue to get the same result, I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the application so it can start fresh.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Support, for they have the necessary tools and expertise to investigate this further. You can check out this article to learn how to reach them: QuickBooks Online Support.

Additionally, if you want to run a Profit and Loss report using the QuickBooks Online app, please refer to this article: Run a Profit & Loss report using the QuickBooks Online app (iOS only.)

Let me know if you have further questions about saving the estimate as a PDF file. See you around.
