Question

Why does Intuit keep changing my settings and preferences?

I was notified early last week that Intuit had removed the automatic function of attaching a PDF to the invoice when sent by email.  I was also informed that I could enable that in settings.

I went to Settings, Account and Settings, Sales, Online Delivery and turned the option for PDF on for Invoices.

Today, while invoicing, I am AGAIN notified that the setting has been changed and that I must do it all over again.

WHY?

Leave well enough alone!  We pay good money every month for this product and we are bombarded with advertising and changes that DO NOTHING for us, the users and subscribers.  Be respectful of our status as YOUR CUSTOMER!

You list at least two reasons why QB Desktop is better than QB Online.  Intuit won't randomly change your settings on Desktop - and there aren't nearly as many adds.

I hear your sentiments. Know that this isn't the experience we want you to encounter. However, it seems to be working well here from what I can see here on my end.

That being the case, we can perform basic troubleshooting steps to see if it's a browser issue. Sometimes your browser's cache and cookies become corrupted, causing problems when accessing websites or opening files. To begin, open your QBO account in an incognito window. It will prevent the browser history from being saved. Please refer to the following keyboard shortcuts based on your browser type:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the private browsing session works, you can clear the browser's cache so the system can restart. This task is also possible in other supported, up-to-date browsers. Clearing the cache will reboot the system, allowing you to work with clearing the cache. It will also help you get rid of any junk files that might be slowing down your work.

Your answer is not what the questioner was asking.  I too have the same problem.  I have set in my company preferences that invoices as pdf's be attached to customers emails. I was notified last month by a customer that they had not received the pdf of their invoice with the invoice email, so I had to send it separately.  I looked at the company settings and notice that the "Email Options for Sales Form" had the Invoices box unchecked (why, I don't know), so I checked it.  Today, I got the attached message when I started to create a new invoice:

To get your invoice paid faster, we removed PDFs from emails

Customers can download the PDF when they go to pay the invoice. To reattach PDFs to emails, go to Settings, Sales, then Online Delivery.

Why... why?!?!
Please stop messing with our settings!!! Our customers expect to receive PDF copies of their invoices when we email them through Intuit/Quickbooks invoicing.  We are an information security company and are constantly harping on our customers not to click on links in emails, IT IS DANGEROUS TO DO SO!!!  We look bad when we send an email using Intuit/Quickbooks that expects them to click on a link to receive what we've promised them we wouldn't do.

Please address this issue!!!
