Question

Why does quickbooks always get my name/business name wrong?? Now my 1099 are messed up! Please help! Supposed to be my name then biz name on second line! Every time!

I am a single owner LLC therefore IRS treats me as a disregarded entity. I have always been instructed to use MY NAME on line one and the Trade name on line two. This wasn’t even an option when reviewing the data for 1099! I’m so stressed!

The data that populates in your 1099 forms depends on the info that you've set up in the system.

 

If you e-file your 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC with us and need necessary corrections, I'd suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Team. They can review your account and help in correcting your tax forms. Here's how to connect with them:

 

  1. Go to Help (?), then click Contact Us.
  2. Please enter your question and select Let's talk.
  3. Review and Select from the following: Have us call you or Chat with us.

@ReymondO thanks! It says they were accepted, just now I am confused because I have never submitted them without the business name. Do they need to be corrected??

It's good to know that your 1099s were accepted. As provided by my peer above, you can make necessary corrections if you've e-filed with us since the information in the form is incorrect. For now, we're unable to provide an official procedure for the amendment process.
