Question

Why when I look at my 1099's the status still shows in agency. They were to be emailed out and I did them back on the 15th.What does this mean?

Glad to have you join this forum, srudesal. Let me provide information about 1099 filings in QuickBooks Online.

If you prepare and file 1099s electronically with QuickBooks, we may email or mail a printed copy to your contractors. These forms are due to the IRS and your vendors by January 31. After you file your 1099s, we’ll notify you of your filing status through email.

You can also check your filing status anytime in your QuickBooks Online account. To do that:

  1. Go to Taxes, then 1099 filings.
  2. View the status of the e-filing under Filing status. Below is the list of statuses and what they mean:
  • Not Transmitted: You did your part, but we haven't sent it to the IRS, state, or local tax agency yet.
  • Transmitted: We sent the form to the agency. But the agency hasn't processed it yet. The IRS generally processes forms within a few weeks. State agencies can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
  • Accepted: The agency has received and accepted the form.
  • Rejected: The receiving agency has received and rejected the form. Review the rejection letter emailed to you for the specific reason.
  1.  If you want to view a PDF copy, select View 1099.

My vendors have still not received their 1099's and I processed them back around the 15th and my bank account was drafted for this.  When can they expect them since today is the 29th?

Thank you for getting back on this thread, desal. I'll share some details about Form 1099.

QuickBooks distributes these forms to your vendors or contractors after the 31st of January, following the deadline set by the IRS. The program may require processing time to ensure the accuracy of information on these forms before the said distribution.
