Workaround for qbo file import problem

I am on QB Desktop Pro 2021.

It's too late for me to purchase QB Desktop Pro 2024.

I am running into an error trying to manually load my .qbo banking transaction files into QB.

Does anyone know of a workaround?

I can go into the qbo file via Notepad to edit code if need be.

Well, you could convert the QBO file into an IIF file and import it. Doing so will add all the transactions in the import file to the account register, so doing this is more appropriate if you don't enter data, but instead just import it. Many users do this for credit card type accounts.

 

You can use a product like our BRC OFX/QFX/QBO to IIF Converter  to convert the file. It will also help you pick the correct QuickBooks name and account to use for each transaction - and remember your selection from session to session.

Importing QBO files is part of the bank feed feature. You cannot use it on outdated versions of QB Desktop. You may have 2 options

1. Use TP Importer with your QB Desktop 2021. It's a $199 one time license and you can get it for free from a reseller.

2. Use the trial version of QB Desktop 2022 Enterprise as a workaround to run the bank feed feature.

The error appears due to the outdated version of your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), desterttides. As a workaround, you can use the trial version of QBDT.

 

Since QBDT 2021 has been discontinued, the option to use Web Connect will no longer be available. To continue accessing the banking feature, you can follow SIAB's suggestion to install a trial version on your computer, restore your file, and download or upload your bank transactions.

 

Another option is to subscribe to the latest version of the product to access our services. On the other hand, you can still manually record your data into QuickBooks and reconcile them.
