Hello
While trying to uplaod a CVS file, I get the message "Your file does not contain the three required columns: transaction date, memo and amount."
I have reviewed the file to make sure it is correctly formatted but it just does´t work.
Thanks

Use the trial version of csv2qbo converter tool to isolate the problem.

It's my pleasure to have you here in the Community, @FCbruno. I'll help you fix the error message you've received so you can upload your transactions as soon as possible.

This issue can happen when the CSV file doesn't contain the correct format. I understand that you have reviewed your file already yet the still issue persists. At this time, I recommend you revisit your file to isolate the issue. Make sure that the DateDescription, and Amount columns are available.

Once done, upload the file through the Banking page.

  1. Click on Banking at the left pane, then go to the Banking page.
  2. Select the Link account ▼ dropdown, then Upload from file.
  3. Choose the file you want to import.
  4. Map the fields, then Continue.
  5. Mark the transactions you want to bring to the system.
  6. Click Continue, then Done.

If you're getting the same result, I suggest replicating the steps through a private window to narrow down the result. There are times that cache on the regular browser you're using may affect your QuickBooks experience.

You can use either of these keyboard shortcuts to save you time:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If it works fine, go back to your original browser and clear its cache to refresh the page.

On the other hand, I'm also adding this material for more tips about the supported CSV template for your banking entries: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.

Once the transactions are available in QuickBooks, you're now ready to review and categorize them.

I'm happy to help you today. Give me a comment below if you have follow-up questions. I'm always here to provide additional assistance. Keep safe!
