I am testing the Traditional Chinese version of QuickBooks but my client told me today that they want the Simple Chinese version...if there is one. Does anyone know if there is one?

Greetings, cindy.w.weaver.

Thanks for joining the Community. I'm here to share about supported languages in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Global.

Traditional Chinese is the language that's currently supported by QBO Global. As a workaround, you can change your browser's language to get a Simplified version of Chinese language in QBO.

To do this, please follow these steps (applicable to the Chrome and Safari browsers):

  1. Open your Chrome browser and click on the Menu (  ) icon.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Scroll down and click on Advanced.
  4. In the Languages section, click on the Language drop down.
  5. Click on the Add languages button.
  6. Click to select Chinese (Simplified) and click on Add.
  7. Click on the Chinese (Simplified) menu icon and choose Display Google Chrome in this language.
  8. Then, click on Relaunch to restart the browser.

For Safari:

  1. Open System Preferences on your Mac from the bottom menu bar.
  2. Under the Personal heading click on the Language & Text icon. You should now see a list of languages in order of preference from top to bottom.
  3. To change the order of preferred languages, click on Chinese (Simplified) and drag it up or down (top being 1st preference, second being 2nd preference, and so on).
  4. Once you have finished setting your language preference, close the System Preferences window.
  5. Now, click the Apple logo and log out of your Mac.
  6. You can now log back in to your Mac with your new language preference and open a browser to see the changes.

That should do it. Your browser will now display the Chinese (Simplified) language.

Let me know if you have any other concern. I'm always here to help. Take care.

I want to use my QB in our China office. What are the set up ?

Let's get your QuickBooks Online (QBO) ready for use in China, Lily.

To begin with, please note that QBO accounts are specific to a particular region and once created, the country setting cannot be changed.

If you want to use your existing account for basic tasks such as sending invoices or viewing reports, you can do so, as QBO is cloud-based and accessible from anywhere. You can enable the multicurrency feature to handle transactions in different currencies.

However, if your business is registered in China and your current account was set up for a different country, you'll need to create a new account specifically for China. This will help ensure that your software complies with local regulations, including the appropriate address formats and tax rates.

To create a new account, here's how:

  1. Visit the country selection page: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/.
  2. Select the country you want to subscribe to.
  3. Choose your subscription plan.
  4. Click Add another company and sign in with your existing Intuit credentials.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the account.

Once your new QBO account is ready, please refer to the article below to transfer your existing lists, such as customers, vendors, and products. Due to import limitations, some transactions may need to be entered manually.

Additionally, when you first sign in to QBO, the homepage dashboard provides an overview of your company, a setup checklist, and a task list highlighting items that need your attention. For more details, refer to this article: Get started and adjust settings after you sign up.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need additional help setting up your account. We're always here to help.
