Hi there, @seline. Let's work this out so you can have your barcodes appear and ensure that they match your product listing in QuickBooks Online (QBO).Before anything else, know that I appreciate you for reaching out here in the Community. Also, may I ask if you've already tried resetting your device? or what troubleshooting you've performed?

If you haven't tried performing any troubleshooting steps yet, I recommend resetting your device. This way, you can refresh the connectivity of your barcode scanner with QBO. I'll gladly input the steps below. For iOS user, these are the steps:

  1. Turn off the scanner to disconnect from your iOS device.
  2. In your iOS device, go to Settings and then select Bluetooth
  3. Click Forget this device.
  4. Turn on the scanner and enable Keyboard mode by scanning the Barcode below.
  5. Go back to Settings, and then click Bluetooth
  6. Reconnect your Barcode scanner.

 For Android users, here's how:

  1. Turn off the scanner to disconnect from your android device.
  2. In your android device, go to Settings and then select Bluetooth
  3. Click Forget this device.
  4. Turn on the scanner and enable Keyboard mode by scanning the Barcode below.
  5. Go back to Settings, and then click Bluetooth.
  6. Reconnect your Barcode scanner.

Also, here's an article that's US based. You can visit this article for more information about resetting barcode scanner: Learn how to reset your Barcode Scanner.

Hi KurtKyle,

I had tested and the barcode scanner seems working well because there wasn't any issue for me to scan it in product listing. Search engine able to find all the barcode item which already added into list.

The scanning malfunction happened only when creating invoice function. The barcode which already in product listing wasn't able to retrieve data in "Product/Service" column under "Invoice".

The weird scenario is some barcode was able to search and input automatically. But 90% of items in my product list are not able run by scanner. ONLY manual typing works for search engine.

I'm using a customize invoice template for my company. Before this, I tried QB standard template in trial version, no issue for me to scan & search data in product list when issuing invoice.

Any other solution for this? In need support to solve this bugs.

Thank you for the additional information, @seline.

Let me share some troubleshooting steps to isolate this scanning malfunction issue. I'm determined to ensure you can automatically search and input data when creating an invoice.

Most common issues in QBO are usually a result of too much accumulated historical data. Whenever you visit a website, it saves some information from the web page in its cache and cookies. These files allow the websites you visit most often to load faster. Not to worry, clearing them will do the trick.

First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

After logging in to QBO, try scanning again. If it works, I recommend clearing your browser's cache so you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported browser.

Additionally, this article helps you spice up your sales forms by personalising and adding specific info: Customise Invoices, Estimates, and Sales Receipts.

Feel free to come back and share if you need further help. I'll stay around until you can run the scanner over all your items.
