Accepting debit cards vs credit cards

My state allows an upcharge for accepting a credit card but not for accepting a debit card.  However, I'm being charged the same for both by Intuit.  How can I show the transaction as a debit card?  Or is Intuit even set up to accept debit cards?

Don't confuse the fees Intuit charges for processing cards of any type on your behalf. with the upcharge to your customer that your state allows you to impose.

Quickbooks does recognize PIN transactions at only 1% but only in QB POS (Point of Sale, software) https://quickbooks.intuit.com/payments/legal/TOC102017/standard-pricing-schedule-sep2017/ otherwise credit and debit cards have no difference of impact on your fees.

You would have to know ahead of time which of your customers is going to use a credit card rather than a debit card so that you could add the fee into the invoice before sending it to the customer

So bottom line is, I can't do a debit card unless I'm using POS software.  Okay...I think it's crazy that the State of Texas is so specific about that if I'm being charged regardless.  They only recently struck down the law against cc fees passed on to customers as unconstitutional.  Thank you for taking the time to answer!
