Bank Reconciliations

Thanks for sharing your concern about reconciling your account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @psheehy89.

I'm here to help you reconcile your account in QuickBooks. 

Based on the screenshot that you've shared, there's a discrepancy error when reconciling. Reconciliation discrepancies are usually caused by the following factors:
 

• duplicate transactions
• the transaction was associated with a different bank account
• previously reconciled transactions were edited or deleted
• the opening balance or an account is incorrect
   

We can also open the Audit log to check if there are deleted transactions that need to restore. This will show you any changes that were made to your account.

Here's how:
 

1. Go to Settings ⚙.
2. Click Audit Log.
3. From the Events dropdown, hit Reconciliations.
   
   
   
   

If you found there's a deleted transaction, we have the option to re-enter the transaction or undo and redo the previous reconciliation. Let me provide additional details about this and help you.

If you prefer to undo then redo your previous reconciliation, you can follow these steps:
 

1. Click on Banking from the menu bar.
2. Choose Reconcile.
3. Hithe Undo Last Reconciliation button from the Begin Reconciliation page.
4. Select Continue, then OK.
5. Close and reopen the Begin Reconciliation window.
    

Additionally, I'd recommend reviewing your previous period's reconciliation. This will help us determine whether the opening balance for the current period is correct.
