Oh how I wish that would work.
They are not in my bank account register. They are still in the Banking>Make Deposits list.
They are in the Undeposited Funds register, but I can't delete them there without getting the same message that I need to "delete this payment line item from the deposit before you can delete the transaction itself."
I again tried to delete the "payment line" in the Credit Memos...but still get the same message. I have also deleted EVERY line in the Credit Memos and tried to save them that way. Same message. I again tried Voiding the Credit Memos which changes all the Amount to $0, but it won't let me Save without the same error message. I tried Voiding then Deleting before Saving. Same message.
It seems like it should be so simple...to just delete a Credit Memo. But the program won't let me do that. I just can't delete those Memos and remove them from the Undeposited Register.
I hope you can stay with me to help me solve this. If you want to set up a time to remote in to my computer, I will gladly let you see exactly what is happening.
Steve
Thanks for actively responding, @Divnick. I'll be your guide today.
I've checked our records and couldn't find any active related case about the error message you received when deleting the credit memo.
Getting an error or seeing unusual behavior can be fixed using the Verify and Rebuild tool. First off, let's ensure you update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. Here's how:
- Go to the Update to the Latest Release page.
- Select the correct product or click the Change link and select your QuickBooks product.
- Choose the Update button to download the update file.
Once done, click Setup Automatic Updates to set QuickBooks to automatically download and install the latest updates.
Then, follow the detailed steps to verify and rebuild your company file to resolve potential data damage.
If the issue persists, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Care team. They can help you check your account to see what's causing this to happen. They may also submit a case to investigate the issue when necessary.
