Question

check register

I will be migrating from desktop to Online Plus in the next week or so.

Been looking at videos, community etc.  I write paper checks in desktop then enter them into the check register to update the vendor info. As the sole user can I access the check register and just enter the: vendor, account #'s and amount?  Want to keep the online plus as simple as I do it in the desktop version.

Please advise.

It's a pleasure to have you in the Community today, @Roberta.

We've got you covered, I'll be sharing some insights to help you access the check register and enter the vendor, account numbers, and amount in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Indeed, you can access the check register in the Chart of Account tab then enter in the search bar the name of the checking account you want to access and click View register.

Moreover, entering vendors, account numbers, and amounts are achievable if you are creating transactions like checks within the register. Let me guide you on how:

  1. At the left navigation panel, click Transactions and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Choose the account you want to access and click View Register.
  3. Click the Add check button and enter the necessary information.

Here's a photo as a reference:

In addition, you can go through the articles below to show your transactions by Date together with check numbers. This will provide you steps on how to remove columns on your bank register as well as on what other transactions you can quickly add:

Please let me know if you have follow-up questions about accessing the check register in QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to help. Stay safe, @Roberta11_2!

@Roberta10  "Want to keep the online plus as simple as I do it in the desktop version."

I have bad news for you.

The good news is that it doesn't sound like you've migrated yet.

QBO is a dumpster fire, and it's only getting worse.

My best advice is to browse this forum a bit more, check out what actual customers are saying about QBO at every single new update they come out with.
