Has anyone had their payments all of a sudden defaulted to goto the Quickbooks checking account when they never signed up for one? I have clients that swear they haven't signed up and yet their payments are all of a sudden defaulted there and I have had to go and change in the settings.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community again, AssuredBookkeepingPlus. Let me share details on how the checking account works in QuickBooks Payment and in the Online version. Also, I'll make sure that the client's amount will be deposited into the right account smoothly.

After you sign up for QuickBooks Payments and if you're approved, you get a QuickBooks Checking account and a debit card. It's a monthly fee-free checking account within QuickBooks where all of your customer payments get deposited.

Then, a checking account is one of the options you can choose when you begin to fill in the details for a payment account through QBO. With this, it could be the said account has been selected and that's the reason payments defaulted to go to the mentioned account. Since you already change the information in the settings, rest assured that the client's payments are deposited to the appropriate one.

However, if the issue persists, I suggest contacting our Merchants Services Support Team. This team is the best resource for such inquiries, as they're able to request account information. They can also verify why the client payments account defaulted to the QB Checking account.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to see how QuickBooks Payments deposits work in QuickBooks Online: Common questions about payments deposits in QuickBooks Online.

Don't hesitate to post again here in QuickBooks Community if you have additional questions about the client's payment. I'll be right here to help, AssuredBookkeepingPlus. Have a great day!
