Hello there

One of our employees are eligible to be paid commission on sales.  We would like to make the payment using QBO payroll but I do not see the option for commission available there. Kindly guide.

Thanks

SN

You can pay employees commission on sales by adding it as an additional pay type.

Here's how:

  1. In your left navigation bar, go to Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Choose an employee.
  3. From Pay types, click Start or Edit.
  4. In the Common pay types section, pick Commission.
  5. If you'd like to, you can change its name by hitting Edit.
  6. Select Save.

Now you'll be prepared to pay employees with commission and their regular pay:

  1. Create a paycheck for the employee you want to pay.
  2. Enter an amount in your Commission field.
  3. Select Preview payroll, Submit payroll, then Finish Payroll.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with commission which may come in handy moving forward: Pay employees with commission

I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have a wonderful day!
