I am trying to connect my email to my Quickbooks desktop for Mac but i have the 2020 version and all the help guides are for 2019 which don't have the same options as 2020. I need to do this so that I can create an invoice and email it directly to the customer

You’re on the right track, @natetru.

I’m here to help you connect your email to QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

You can set up as many email accounts as you like. Please follow these steps:

  1. Select QuickBooks, then click Preferences.
  2. Hit the Email icon.
  3. Go to Custom from Send Emails Using.
  4. Select the plus (+) button to add a new account.
  5. Add an account a name, then add the settings from your email provider.
  6. Repeat for any other accounts you’d like to add.

You can refer to this article for additional details of the steps: Connect your email to QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Hi there, natetru.

I have some information to help get this set up. Since I'm not sure exactly what email provider you're using, I've included the information for the 3 that are most common. These are the Port and STMP settings for these providers.

These will be used to fill in any information you may be missing when connecting your email account. If I missed any or if you have any other questions, please let me know.
