Credit memos do not show up in payment window in QBO

I have a client that has open credit memos. I can see them on client profile page. But when I go into receive payment, there is no credit memo box at the bottom for me to apply the credits. It seems to be only effecting 1 client.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Kier1.

 

Since you're not seeing an option to add credit memos to transactions, I'd initially recommend checking if your client has their Automatically apply credits option turned on. This can be checked in the Automation settings.

 

Here's how:
 

  1. Use your Gear icon, then go to Account and settings.
  2. Find and access the Advanced tab.
  3. In your Automation section, click the Pencil (Edit) icon.
  4. Confirm if their Automatically apply credits option is turned on. Make any changes if necessary.
  5. Select Save if updates were made, then Done.

 

Next, you can go to your Receive payment screen and access the Credits section. From your Credits section, you'll be able to manually choose credit memos you want to use.

 

If you're not seeing a Credits section while on your Receive payment screen, you'll initially want to try troubleshooting the browser you're using and confirming you meet each of our system requirements.

 

In the event you're still not seeing a Credits section like you should, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
