Customer unable to pay invoice

I’m having issues with invoices! The Customer has a pay button via email, but the link/button is unresponsive. I’ve sent the invoice again a few times, it’s linked to my bank accounts, and the customer has tried on different devices. Any idea why invoices aren’t working?

Thanks for notifying us of your concern, @Cgedert. I can see how challenging it is when a customer is unable to pay an invoice via email. Let me share the details of why you're experiencing this issue in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

I've checked my resources and was able to confirm an ongoing investigation (INV-83169) regarding the Pay Now button in invoices being unresponsive. Rest assured that our system engineers are working diligently to fix this concern so we can get back to receiving payments from your customers.

In the meantime, I'd recommend reaching out to our support to add you to the list of affected users. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon and select Contact Us.
  2. Provide a brief description of your concern and select Continue.
  3. Choose between Chat with us and Have us call you.

When you're self-employed, we'll have to collect sales tax for the products and services we sell. In QBSE, we can manually add them to your invoices by creating a sales tax item. I'd recommend checking with your state and local governments' tax franchise boards to see what we need to collect and when to send it.
