I know managing your financial accounts can sometimes feel overwhelming, Ojprospered. Rest assured, you're not alone and I'm here to help you navigate this with ease in QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) is designed to recognize and connect primarily with checking and savings accounts when you link your bank accounts. This means that when you attempt to connect your bank, only these accounts will typically appear for selection.

Other accounts like debit cards, don't appear as separate entities because they are often viewed as payment methods rather than independent accounts in the QBO system.

To address your concern, add your debit card as a sub-account from your checking and saving account. You can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings ,then select Chart of accounts.
  2. Choose New. Enter an Account name
  3. Pick an Account type, and then choose the Detail type from the dropdowns.
  4. Check Make this a subaccount, then choose the Parent account it should be under.
  5. If you choose a Bank enter Opening Balance, and fill out the starting date in the As of field.
  6. Select Save

For more information, please refer to this article for the complete guidelines about subaccounts: Create subaccounts in your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.
