How do I accept payments directly from donors without knowing the amount? The payment link only lets you enter an exact amount

I have a suggestion on how to record your donor, even if you don't know the exact amount. This way, you can categorize and deposit them on time. 

If you have access to your QuickBooks Merchant account, check there to see how much has been deposited for this specific donor. 

Here's how: 

1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center. 
2. Go to the Activity & Reports menu and select Deposits.
3. Pick the appropriate date in the drop-down and click Search. 
4. Verify the amount.

After checking, use the payment link to input the actual fund.

However, if you're still unsure about the correct amount, please enter a partial amount. Once you have determined the exact number, edit the transaction and enter it.

Go as follows: 

1. Go to the Sales menu and select Customers. 
2. Double-click your donor's name in the list and go to the Transaction Lists. 
3. Open the deposit and modify the amount. 
4. Click Save and close.
