I have an account that is based out of Canada and I'm working on their equipment in the States. When I try to enter the zip code, it will not let me enter letters.

I'll help you enter the Canadian zip code in QuickBooks so you can process payments shortly, @heroservicesandm.

Processing payments using Canadian Credit Card is my focus here.

If you're using our GoPayment feature, the option to pay using Canadian Credit Card is currently unavailable. This is set up to accept the zip code of where the Merchant account is located (US GoPayment and US zip code).

In this case, it would be preferable to advise cardholders to contact their credit card provider for assistance. If they can't use their credit card, another form of payment will be required. Other option is to use other payment methods such as ACH, PayPal, or Wise bank transfer.

However, if you didn't use our QuickBooks Payments feature, I'd suggest turning on the multi-currency functionality. Once it's on, you can add transactions in another currency, and QuickBooks handles all currency conversions. Please note that you can no longer turn it off. You may read this link about what happens after you activate Multicurrency: Learn about Multicurrency in QuickBooks Online

Once confirm that multi-currency is a fit for your business, here's how to turn on the feature:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Account and settings.
  2. Choose Advanced.
  3. Click Edit ✎ in the Currency section and pick your Home Currency.
  4. Select the Multicurrency checkbox and confirm that you understand that you can't undo this option.
  5. Hit Save and close.

After that, add the CAD currency to use in processing customer payments. Proceed as follows:

  1. Go back to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose All list, then click Currencies.
  3. Select Add currency.
  4. Pick CAD from the Add Currency ▼ dropdown menu and click Add.

For information, check out this link: Turn on and use multi-currency

Once done, you can enter the Canada zip code and process the payments seamlessly.

@heroservicesandm

You may need a 3rd party merchant service to accept international payments by credit card.

One potential solution is using a payment processor that supports international payments and can handle Canadian postal codes. EBizCharge is a fully native QB solution that allows this, so you can process Canadian payments (and any payment) natively in QB with no issues.
