We have connected paypal, but need to connect paypal credit and paypal mastercard transactions.  We get this error.

The error you received indicates that another user already connected the PayPal account at issue to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. Additionally, you can't connect both a parent account and its subaccounts simultaneously. Attempting to do so will result in a notification indicating that the account is already connected.

 

Here's what you need to do to avoid these types of errors when connecting your PayPal account:

 

  • Ensure PayPal hasn't already been connected by another user.
  • Confirm you are a master or company admin user in QuickBooks Online, as only admins or accountants can connect to the app.
  • Verify the PayPal credentials belong to an admin user, not just an authorized user.
