how to disable payment process checkbox when receiving credit card payment

is there a way to disable the payment processing box from always being checked when recording a credit card payment.  we do not use the intuit merchant service integrated into QB.  We only use QB to record payment receipt.

    Thanks for joining us here in the Community. I'm happy to walk you through the process to disable the payment processing box in QuickBooks Online.

     

    This can be done in just a few steps. Here's how:

     

    1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
    2. Go to Account and Settings.
    3. Select the Payments tab.
    4. In the Payment Methods section, remove the credit card or ACH.

     

    You can also delete the credit card payment through the Payment Methods page. In the credit card section, select the Make inactive option under the Actions column.

    @MorganB  RE: Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.

     

    There's no gear icon in the top right corner of QuickBooks Desktop, which is the product the OP is using.
