Hello, @PACOFFICE.

I want to ensure your concerns about setting up garnishment for a vendor in QBDT get sorted out. Let me assist you with your concerns one at a time.

To answer your first question, doing this process is tricky when choosing a box for the payment types. For more details about each box, or if you're unsure what to choose, review the IRS's instructions for Forms 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC.

Otherwise, it would be best to seek professional advice from your accountant to give you the best process. If you're not affiliated with one, you can utilize our Find an Accountant tool to look for one in your area.

With regards to including the amount paid to Franchise Tax Board, it depends on the garnishment order. That said, I'd recommend reaching out to your appropriate tax agencies or tax advisor for clarifications related to this concern.

In addition, I'll be adding these resources about 1099 for your to prepare for the upcoming tax season:

Please let me know if you need clarification about this process. I'll be standing by for your response. Have a great day and happy holidays!
