I’m unable to connect my American Express Business Checking account. I was able to connect my AMEX Business Credit Card.

Correct bank name. It's important to verify the name of the bank from the list as there are some banks that have multiple names.
The bank might not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
The bank is supported in QBO.

Once bank transactions download, you can now start categorizing or matching them to straighten out your books. After that, you have the option to do your regular bank reconciliation.

Has anybody been able to connect there business CHECKING account from American Express to QuickBooks? Any feedback would be helpful.

Yes, i've connected the business credit card but not the checking account.

Utilize the trial version of MT Online to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank or connection.

I've been trying to do this for weeks and getting nowhere. It fails every time.

I just tried it again while writing this and can confirm it still doesn't work!

To ensure this gets investigated, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have full access to your account and determine its cause. It'll also allow them to submit a ticket to our engineering team to alert them about the issue if necessary.

Here's how to contact our support:

Go to the Help (?) icon at the top.
On the Assistant tab, click Talk to a human.
Enter your concern in the Type something field, then click the send icon.
Click on I still need a human.
Select Get help from a human.
You can either select Chat with us or Have us call you.

In the meantime, I'd suggest manually importing your AMEX data into QuickBooks Online.
