Question

if the bank ACH transfer fees are 1% per transaction with a $10 max; confirming if our client pays a $100,000 check via their bank, our fee is only $10, correct?

@maria126

The $10 cap only applies if you had a QuickBooks payment account before Sept. 7, 2023.  Otherwise, there's NO CAP.  It's highway robbery, frankly.  $100 to process a $10,000 ACH is crazy.  ACH payments save banks money and check payments are free.  Many other payment providers give you a certain number of free ACH transactions every month and Bill.com and Melio charge a flat $0.50 per transaction regardless of the dollar amount or number of transactions.

Hi there, @maria126.

Thank you for posting in the Community about clarifying ACH fees related to QuickBooks Payments.

To answer your question: Yes, the example you shared is correct. If the ACH fee cap is $10 per transaction, regardless of the transaction amount, as long as it has been executed once, you will only be charged $10.

However, for accounts created before September 6, 2023, a cap of $15 was implemented. After this date, there will be no cap for newly created accounts.

Additionally, you can always check the articles below for more information about funding times for QuickBooks Payments:
