Question

Incomplete Deposit Details

Hello everyone,

Typically QBO will match a bunch of customer payments into one amount and deposit into the bank for say $1,000.00 so you don't have to manually match the various customer payments. However, sometimes that match feature breaks and you have to do it manually.

To find the details of the $1,000.00 I would go to Sales > Deposits > Select Deposit for $1,000.00. But if the transaction is large - say in the millions, the details will not display all the transaction that add up to that million.

Does anyone know why it stopped a quarter of the way and how to fix it? See screenshot of the page I'm referring to.

Having automatic matching transactions will save you time and make your overall workflow more effective and seamless, JV30. I'll share the detailed information with you.

The functionality of this feature depends on your bank. If your provider doesn't support a distinct user ID for each payment, QuickBooks won't be able to match it automatically. In such instances, you will have to perform the matching manually.

On the other hand, large transactions limit the number of items they can display. Therefore, if there are numerous entries, not all may be visible.

For more detailed information on how this functionality operates, check out this article for guidance: Automatically match QBO transactions.

Additionally, I've included this article to assist you in verifying that your bank and QuickBooks balances match accurately: Reconcile an account in QBO.
