I would like to reconcile revenue before the end of the period.  Can I change the posting date of the revenue recognition entries to post on the 25th of each month?

Yes, you can change the posting dates of revenue recognition entries by updating the service date, dmendoza. Let me discuss this further and walk you through the process.

In QuickBooks Online, you can modify the service date of your revenue recognition entries, as long as it is still the same month as the original service date. However, it is not recommended to make changes after the schedule has started, as errors may occur. It is best to make any necessary changes before the end of the month or revenue recognition schedule.

Here's how:

  1. From the Sales tab on the left panel, select Invoices.
  2. Find the Revenue Recognition invoices. Click the Edit icon or tap the drop-down arrow and select View/Edit.
  3. Update the invoice as needed, and click Save.

For additional help, check out this article on setting up an automatic schedule for revenue recognition in QuickBooks Online Advanced: Set up a revenue recognition schedule.

You can check out the Invoice List report to see the transactions related to revenue recognition. Just head over to the Reports menu and search for Invoice List.
