Question

Online payment is not applied to invoice

My customer paid VIA Quickbooks Online Payment and I can see the payment in my chart of accounts. The payment is currently sitting in my Quickbooks Checking Account.

I do not see the Online Payment as an option to apply to my customer's open invoice.

I have read to Edit the Payment in the Chart of Accounts, however I do not have "Accounts Receivable" in the "Account" Column.

Is there a step that I am missing?

Hello, copperstatess.

When users encounter strange behaviors like a missing option, while working in QuickBooks Online, they can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. It could be that the accumulated cache is the root cause of the error. To rule this out, Let's open the webpage in an incognito or private browser. This mode will not save your browsing history and will help isolate any web issues.

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, press Command + Shift + N.

If the error is now gone, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache to delete the stored junk files. You can switch to other supported browsers to further isolate the issue.

You can follow the details in this article to link it to your invoice: How to link a deposit to an invoice
