Hello:

Whats the best order to download Credit card payments into QB Desktop so the system matches everything in the right way.

Download the Credit Card transactions first or download the bank account deposit of the Credit Card payements first?

Welcome to the Community, BKaz.

Effectively managing your financial transactions in QuickBooks Desktop is essential for maintaining accurate records and staying on top of your finances.

We suggest downloading your credit card transactions first to ensure everything matches correctly in QuickBooks Desktop.

This approach allows you to carefully categorize and capture all individual expenses, making it easier to match them against the corresponding bank deposits.

By following this order, you can more easily match the credit card payments in your bank account with the corresponding transactions in your credit card account, reducing the chances of discrepancies.

Additionally, we wish to draw attention to pertinent resources within QuickBooks that could greatly aid your bank transactions, ensuring comprehensive financial management:

@JorgetteGRE: This approach allows you to carefully categorize and capture all individual expenses, making it easier to match them against the corresponding bank deposits.

What expenses? There aren't any expenses associated with customer credit card payments that'll later be deposited. They impact Accounts Receivable and (usually) Undeposited Funds.

@BKaz  Generally, download/record customer payments first and then they'll be available to include in deposits when you download/record the deposits.
