Question

Pay Vendor Electronically?

Hi,

Is there a way to electronically pay a vendor and have funds deposited directly into their bank account? They keep losing the checks we send and I think if I can just send electronically to their checking account it would be easier for everyone.  And if there is a function for this in QBOL, is there a fee?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi sgmken,

You'll want to use Online Bill Pay to pay vendor bills directly from within QuickBooks Online with ACH or a paper check.

Here's how to sign up using a direct link:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to Online Bill Pay Learn More page, then select Get Started.
  3. Enter your company information, then select Next.
  4. Follow the prompts to connect your bank account.
  5. Select Open, then select Next.
  6. Enter your personal information, then select Next.
  7. Finally, answer a few identity check questions.

Hi,

Does it allow to make changes to the bill before scheduled payment date? I mean QBO generates the bill on 25th of the month and I print the check on 30th after making any adjustments to it like adding for any services or subtracting for anything missed. And if I switch to Bill pay will I ab able to do that?

Thanks for help in advance!

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Sam171.

I did some research on Bill Pay's official website, Bill.com, and found that they do have an article on how to edit incorrect information on existing bills. I'd recommend reviewing that resource for more details about editing bills. Additionally, if you need any assistance with the info covered in their article or have any additional questions, you'll want to get in touch with Bill.com's support team directly.

I've also included a couple detailed resources about working with Online Bill Pay which may come in handy moving forward:

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any questions. Have an awesome day!

@sgmken

As additional option, you can pay it htru this payment service with a lower fee. It supports QBO.
