I need to pay a consultant who is based in Turkey. but has a USD account with a Turkish bank.  Bill.com assumes that I want to send in Turkish Lira, but I don't.  Is there a way of forcing the transfer in USD?

I'm delighted to show how to pay a vendor with a USD Turkish bank account, Cornerstone Consulting Group.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) makes it easy to help you process foreign funds. We'll need to make sure that the Multicurrency feature is enabled where this is an irreversible process and cannot be changed. Once done, pay a foreign vendor by creating a vendor with the correct currency.

In recording the payment, you're only allowed to use the bank account with the currency that matches the bill. Just create a dummy bank account with the vendor's currency and move the funds from your bank account. When recording the payment, use the dummy account. Let me guide you on how to create a dummy account:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. Select the New button.
  4. Input the necessary details and then Save and close.

Next, move funds from your account to the dummy account. For guidance, you can check out this article: Transfer funds between accounts. Once finished, you can now pay the vendor bill. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the +New icon and choose Pay bills.
  2. Select the account under the Payment account field.
  3. Pick the vendor currency.
  4. Choose the open bill/s, then input the amount.
  5. Once done, save the transaction.

Here's an article you can refer to for more details about receiving and making payment for a foreign invoice/ bill with a foreign currency. Also, for more information about how the Multicurrency feature works, please visit this link: About Multicurrency.
