In October, a client's recurring sales receipts did not automatically process payments.

They are a company that the majority of billing is done this way for first of month.

It happened again November 1.  They have more than 600 recurring transactions each month

Why is this happening?  Is there an technical issue?

You've come to the right place for assistance, @JC2339. I can understand the challenges when recurring sales receipts will not process payments the way we expected. No worries, I've got some steps to help you get through it.

First, I'd like to ask if your clients received any error messages. I would greatly appreciate any additional details.

In the meantime, let's go through some troubleshooting steps to identify what goes wrong and get your recurring sales receipts processed again.

To start, you can open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can accomplish this by utilizing these keyboard shortcut keys:

  • Safari: Control + Option + P
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox or Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P

If everything works smoothly and the payments can be processed again, return to your original browser and clear its cache so the system can start fresh. Also, using a different supported browser can help us dig deep into the root cause of this unexpected behavior.

However, if the issue persists, I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks support team. They have the tools and resources to check your account via screen-sharing sessions and pinpoint the root cause of the problem.

Additionally, I'll provide you with this article in case you want to use bank rules to automatically categorize transactions from your bank: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online

I'm here to support and assist you every step of the way. Feel free to post any questions or concerns about your payment processing. Knowing this process will help you keep your accounts accurate and healthy, setting you up for success and growth in the future.
