Welcome back to the Community, MC08.

Applications for QuickBooks Payments accounts can be declined for a number of reasons. As my colleagues have mentioned in earlier posts, it could have to do the type of products you sell, the type of business, credit history, or simply as a business decision on Intuit's part.

You can learn more by reviewing Intuit's Acceptable Use Policy for QuickBooks Payments applications.

You also have the option of getting in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your application in a secure environment, conduct further research, and discuss why it was declined with you.

They can be reached while you're signed in to QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. Use the Help (?) icon.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter a description of your situation in the What can we help you with? field, then hit Let's talk.
  4. Select Start messaging or Get a call.

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. Have a great day!

not letting me add my bank to my payment,

October 4, 2022

I want to ensure you can add your bank account for payments, amazinggrace.

Before we proceed, are you getting an error message when attempting to add your account? Any additional details will help me provide a timely solution.

In the meantime, let's do some troubleshooting steps to fix this. You can open a private window and check to see if this has something to do with our cache.

Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used web browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If you can successfully add your account, go back to your main browser and clear the cache. Otherwise, use other supported browsers as an alternative.

If the issues persist, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Support to have this investigated.

The Community is always here to listen and help if you need anything else.

I see how practical it would be to your business when the payments are processed seamlessly in the system.

There are times customer's credit cards you process don't go through. Some common reasons can be due to authorization problems or missing info.

Here are the things to check if you enter the credit card info manually:

  • Ensure the credit card number and verification code (usually on the back of the card) are correct. Most credit card numbers are 16 digits long. American Express cards are 15 digits long.
  • In addition to the credit card number, you need to enter a verification code. For most cards, like Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards, it's the 3 digit code on the back of the card. For American Express, it's the 4 digit code on the front of the card.
  • Ensure there are no special characters or spaces in the credit card number or other data fields.
  • Use the customer's address from the US USPS website.

For additional guidelines, you can visit this article link to learn more about fixing customer's declined credit card payments in QuickBooks.

For further assistance, you can also contact our Merchant team again. They can give you a detailed information why the card declines.

Keep in touch if you have more concerns with processing your payments. I'll be here to guide you some more.

I am a landscape contractor, have great credit and it won't let me connect an already functioning merchant payment account from my desktop version to online. I've been using this payment account for years to send invoices so customers who can pay me with a link to an online site.  Thing is, it won't let me create a new account, either. What's up? I contacted support and they were not able to help me. I am tearing my hair out trying to figure this out. I'm about ready to ditch QB Online because of this and other problems I have had with it.

I was just told from the support team that they will not tell me why I was denied bc of proprietary information.  My credit score is great.  So only thing left is at risk business.   What is the risk ?  I have been collecting checks from clients for 8 months.  Everything is great.   Now I have a sales service platform that can’t even take electronic payments.  If I were to collect money from PayPal, Apple Pay, or the many other platforms they would not deny me bc of an at risk business.   This at risk business thing is absolute bs everything is at risk.  Even big corporations on the open stock market crash and are at risk.  If your not going to take money from clients and stop all this red tape lawyer bs then sorry I am taking my services elsewhere.

@TN28

Have you applied to a 3rd party service to integrate with QBO?

Newtoki@There can be several reasons why you might be denied for accepting online payments. Online payment processing involves various factors and considerations that payment providers assess before approving or denying an application. Here are some potential reasons:

  1. Incomplete or Inaccurate Information: If you provided incomplete or inaccurate information during the application process, the payment provider may deny your application. It's important to provide accurate and up-to-date information to ensure a smooth approval process.

  2. High Risk or Suspicious Activity: Payment providers have systems in place to detect and prevent fraudulent or high-risk activities. If your business is categorized as high-risk based on factors such as the industry you operate in, your business model, or your credit history, your application might be denied.

To increase your chances of approval for accepting online payments, ensure that you provide accurate and complete information during the application process. Address any issues related to credit history, financial stability, compliance, and website quality before reapplying. Consider consulting with payment processing experts or advisors who can provide guidance tailored to your specific situation and help navigate the application process more effectively.

I just started my buiness a month ago and signed up for quickbooks to take payments from my clients. I did everything I was asked to do, sent all my verification info, my EIN letter, bank statement, license. I got an email saying I was approved to take payments so a client made a payment and then I was emailed right after saying I can't accept payments and they closed my account. No reason as to why. I paid for this subscription to be able to process card payments, had an email saying I was good to accept payments then denied once my cleint put in their payment information. I don't understand it. Not to mention I paid to use this service and now I can't touch it. I don't have the greatest credit on my personal life but it has nothing to do with my business. Those are 2 seperate things. I didn't ask to borrow money or for credit, just to accept payments from my clients that I do work for. It doesn't come from quickbooks it comes from my clients!
