Can anyone advise which is the best way of tracking all income/expenses & payroll for each job/client in Quickbooks Online?

I would suggest to use the vast range of reports available to you as a QuickBooks Online user.

 

Some reports to have a look at based on what you have said would be:

  • Profit & Loss
  • Balance Sheet
  • Purchases By Product/Service Detail
  • Sales By Customer Detail
  • Detailed Activity Report
  • Pay Run Audit Report

Have a look at these reports and see if they meet your needs and requirements.
