Hello profixsteph,

Welcome to the Community! You can make a leave adjustment to offset the current annual leave balance of the employee. Here's how:

  1. From the pay run creation, click on the employee name and then click on Actions.
  2. Click on Adjust Leave.
  3. On Leave adjustments section on the pay run, select Annual leave.
  4. On Hours, enter the hours to offset the current balance, example-10 to decrease the current leave balance.
  5. Click on Save,

And then to make sure their leave balance is reduced on the pay run. You'll have to make sure to select the Take leave option on the pay run. Here's how:

  1. From the pay run creation page, select the employee name.
  2. Click on Actions button.
  3. Click on Take leave.
  4. Locate Leave Taken field and select Annual Leave category.
  5. Enter taken under Hours field.
  6. Click on Save.

If the leave balance did not change, let's check the leave category settings to verify the payment setup. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Employees tab.
  2. Click on the Payroll Settings.
  3. Click on Leave categories.
  4. Select the Annual leave category.
  5. Locate the Payment setup field, and verify if you're using Basic or Custom set up.
