Hello there, koconnell. I'd be glad to provide information about your concern.

QuickBooks Online doesn't have the ability to create a dedicated recipient created invoice. Still, there are other ways to handle this in your books.

For recording purposes in your books, you can use the Class feature. Then, create sales receipts for the items sold and enter the total sale amount. Afterward, record your commission by creating an expense transaction. Here's how:

  1. Go to the +New button.
  2. Pick Expense.
  3. Choose the appropriate expense account under the Category details and enter the amount of your commission.

Once done, create a cheque to pay the balance to the artist. Enter the artist's name as the payee and the amount you owe them. You can check this article for more information: Record consignment sales.

Although it's not the exact Recipient Created Invoice feature, this workaround could help you track the data properly. Still, if you're looking for another option to achieve what you want, you can explore our QuickBooks App Store website and search for a third-party application that can assist you in setting up a Recipient Created Invoice in QuickBooks Online.

Don't forget to send this feedback to our product developer by going to the Gear icon and selecting Feedback. They will take note and evaluate your idea.

Additionally, you can read this article to learn about creating personalized and professional-looking invoices and other sales form: Customise the look and info on your forms.

If you have any more concerns about how to record and layout the data in QuickBooks, please feel free to post again. Take care and have a great day!
