Question

Can't edit the primary pay category on the payroll default page. Item is greyed out but I can't enter and save other information. What can I do?

Hi dorretti,

 

There's no reported incident with unable to edit the primary pay category on the payroll settings. Let's perform additional trouble shooting steps to isolate the situation encountered. Here's how:

 

  1. Click on the Employees tab.
  2. Click on the Payroll Settings.
  3. Click on Chart of Accounts, and click on Default Accounts.
  4. Click on Import Accounts button.
  5. The next page will show you accounts you can add, and should be available when setting your payroll chart of accounts.
  6. Click on Save Accounts List.

Then, go back to the Default account in the Payroll Chart of accounts.

 

  1. Click on the Employees tab.
  2. Click on Payroll Settings.
  3. click on Chart of accounts, and click on Default Accounts.

 

Also, I recommend please make sure you're log in as an authorise user in the payroll account to be able to make changes in the payroll settings. And last, let's try to log in using a new incognito window browser or other supported browser to isolate the unexpected behavior encountered.
