Question

I continuously have the issue with "The pay date of this pay run cannot be earlier than the date the pay run was finalised" and when this will be resolved?

I tried as suggested to unlock the payrun and to create an update event, but both couldn't solve the issue.  Due to my long business hours,  I can only schedule to complete the payroll and bookkeeping after the pay date.

Hi alice-winterlawy,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

If you've finalised the pay run after the pay date, you'll need to create and lodge an update event.

Here's how:

  1. On Employees tab, select Reports.
  2. Select Single Touch Payroll.
  3. Select Create update event.
  4. Select the appropriate Financial year and Pay schedule, then select Create.

Furthermore, you can unlock the pay run and change the date paid to a date that is after the initial pay run finalisation - this should only be done if you have incorrectly entered the pay date to begin with as the date paid should truly reflect when the net earnings were paid to the employee. Also, please note that you can only unlock a pay run if automated super payments have been made from the pay run.
