Question

I finalised a pay run and cant see the employees when I go to lodge with ATO. I changed both employees to tightly held for STP2 and also to quarterly. Is this why?

I have just set up STP2. Both my employees are tightly held and are set for quarterly reporting. I finalised a pay run covering these two employees, finalised it, but cannot lodge with ATO as no employees are displayed on the ATO lodgement screen. I assume this is because it is a Feb pay run, and the quarter ends in March. Can someone confirm?

Hi chris357,

For Single Touch Payroll Phase 2, you can select how you can report your closely held employees. If you set the STP reporting of a closely held employee to Report employee on quarterly basis you will also see this option when you create and lodge your STP. This will also include all the finalised pay runs for the quarter you've selected

Here's how to lodge a quarterly pay event via STP:

  1. Select Employees from the left menu.
  2. Select Reports, then select Single Touch Payroll under ATO Reporting.
  3. Select Report closely held employees quarterly. (If closely held employees are being reported on a per pay run basis then this button will not appear. More information on setup can be found here.)
  4. Select the Financial year and the quarter you want to report, then select Create.
